The Avett Brothers, Sheryl Crow, Margo Price, Lukas Nelson and Particle Kid joined country legend Willie Nelson in Wantaugh, NY for the Outlaw Music Festival.

Who better to throw an end of summer music festival at Jones Beach than American icon Willie Nelson. In addition to Willie, the line-up featured The Avett Brothers, Sheryl Crow, Margo Price, Lukas Nelson and Promise of the Real, and Particle Kid / Micah Nelson.

Over the course of his six-decade career, Willie Nelson has released over 200 albums and has earned countless awards. In April he released his latest studio album, God’s Problem Child. With 13 new tracks, the album debuted at #1 on Billboard’s country album chart and #10 on the Billboard 200.

Announcing the festival, Willie said “We had such a blast launching and playing last year’s Outlaw Music Festival in Scranton, we had to take it out on the road this summer.”  Blackbird Presents CEO Keith Wortman added “After last year’s Outlaw Music Festival, we made it our mission to assemble an extraordinary lineup and bring this experience to music fans all over the country. I’m looking forward to more unforgettable music moments and I’m honored to be working with these incredible musicians.”

Willie took the stage a little after 9:30p. Gripping his trusty and well-worn guitar Trigger, he launched into Whiskey River as a giant Texas state flag was unfurled behind the band.

For many in the audience, this was a bucket-list moment: to be able to see the 84-year-old legend in person. Willie certainly did not disappoint. His set included some of his greatest hits such as On The Road AgainGeorgia On My Mind, Angel Flying Too Close To The Ground, and Always On My Mind.
