Dan + Shay were in NYC on June 21st to celebrate the release of their new self titled album with CMT's Cody Allen at the iHeart Radio Theater.
Dan + Shay made a stop at New York’s iHeart Radio Theater for a special album release show hosted by CMT’s Cody Alan. The duo performed an eleven song set for a capacity crowd including a mix of songs off their new self-titled album as well as some of their biggest hits. The guys kicked off the night where it all began (pun intended) with 19 You + Me.
Having just flown into New York from London, you’d think they’d be showing some signs of jet-lag. But that was clearly offset by the excitement of the new album dropping at midnight that night. Their passion for the music and for their fans was on full display.
In between songs Alan joined them on stage for some Q&A. Talking about why they chose to self-title this album, which is their third studio album, Dan said, “…The third album, you really figure out who you are, where you wanna go…we were like, this is it – this is Dan + Shay, this who we want to be, and this is where we want to go. So boom, self-titled album.”
In all, the crowd got to hear six songs from the new album including All To Myself, Tequila, Make or Break, Alone Together, Speechless and this one that they recorded with Kelly Clarkson – Keeping Score:
The night’s set included hits from their first two albums including From The Ground Up, How Not To, and their very first number one hit single, Nothin’ Like You. The guys ended the night with a cover of Justin Timberlake’s Can’t Stop The Feelin’, which had the entire crowd jumping and singing along.
